Happenings Here at the Farm

Feb-2015-024It has been some time since I posted an update on what is going on here at the Farm.  We have been blessed with quite a bit of nice weather this year. I look back at photos of last year and we had snow right now! With the nice weather we have been busy.

It has been so nice we were able to till the high tunnels. This made me happy. We Went to Cheshire and Picked up hay from a friend for our goats.

004 I was able to Transplant Greens this week.

009The peppermint in the hydroponics is looking amazing.

008The Spearmint is as Well.

007So far the Watercress has survived too! The winter weather is usually too cold and it dies and we have to restart it. This year it overwintered in our hydroponic system.

We have been Pruning and clearing things out preparing for Planting. Liming the soil and preparing to Plant. It is still a little early Unless you have large coldframes you can plant in. I plan on setting out the more cold hardy plants such as, Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli in about a week or ten days in our high tunnels. These look like green houses but have no ends. They protect the plants from the rain and you can net the ends to keep birds out. (mostly)

Stay tuned for more updates! We are getting busy again!

I am adding some amazing pictures Taken today here at the farm by one of my daughters.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
